Frank J. Natale Concert Series kicks off season with impressive ensemble performance

October 27, 2026

The Myriad Project performs together.

The Myriad Project, a genre-defying electro-acoustic chamber ensemble based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, performed on Quinnipiac’s Mount Carmel Campus this past weekend with its “Fable and Fantasy” program. Exploring storytelling and adventures, the group blends transcriptions of classical reed trios and the contemporary soundscapes into familiar video game soundtracks and original pieces.

The group's unique sound is characterized by colorful woodwind lines overtop complex textures created by the violin and loop station. That contrast is at the heart of Myriad’s sonic appeal — emotional melodies paired with rhythmic groove allow the group to transport listeners into immersive sound worlds. The group's music is evocative of movie soundtracks and fantasy game scores, centering whimsy and storytelling in their concert experiences.

More than 200 Quinnipiac students, faculty staff and community members attended the concert.

Sophie Ouellet ’27, DPT ‘30, a student in the accelerated, dual-degree health science studies/doctor of physical therapy program serves on the concert series council as the student representative. She brought the student perspective to the council.

“The Natale Concert Series is so important for the university,” Ouellet said. “There is an emphasis on diversity in the musical selections, and I think it’s so important for students to experience music that pushes them outside of the boundaries of the music they typically listen to. Whether it be a different style, genre or cultural tradition, it’s important for students to be exposed to music they might not otherwise have experienced. The Natale series allows the university community to challenge beliefs they may hold, enhance open-mindedness and help personal growth through unique perspectives.”

The concert series will return to Quinnipiac in late February with “Emiko Edwards presents ‘RODEO: Works by Aaron Copland,’ A Piano Recital.”

Tickets will be sold beginning on November 1, and the performance will also be held on the Mount Carmel Campus.
