In the annual rankings of more than 1,500 colleges and universities released on Tuesday, Quinnipiac was recognized for national excellence in the following categories:

• No. 156 among National Universities

• 5-Plus Years in a Row among Best National Universities

• No. 91 among Best Value Schools

• No. 61 among Best Undergraduate Teaching

• No. 78 among Top Private Schools

• No. 55 among Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs at schools where doctorates are not offered

• No. 110 among Best Colleges for Veterans

• No. 115 among Nursing

• No. 129 among Business Programs

• No. 257 among Computer Science

• No. 276 among Undergraduate Psychology Programs

• No. 356 among Top Performers on Social Mobility

Demonstrating strong momentum across academic quality and student outcomes, Quinnipiac improved its Best Value standing by seven spots to No. 91 nationally and secured impressive debuts in Undergraduate Teaching at No. 61 and Top Private Schools at No. 78, alongside several significant undergraduate program rankings.

“Quinnipiac’s ranking among the nation’s top 100 private universities and top 100 best-value schools reflect the quality of our academic programs and, most importantly, the outcomes our students achieve. These national recognitions underscore the value of a Quinnipiac education and our commitment to preparing graduates for success in their careers and communities,” said Provost Debra Liebowitz.

Liebowitz noted that the remarkable new undergraduate teaching ranking is a major distinction which highlights Quinnipiac’s focus on student success.

“We are particularly proud to be among only two universities in Connecticut recognized for undergraduate teaching, because it highlights what is at the heart of a Quinnipiac education: talented faculty and staff who are deeply committed to their students’ learning, growth and success,” Liebowitz said.

U.S. News & World Report’s 2027 Best Colleges rankings provide a data-driven comparison of more than 1,700 colleges and universities by using up to 17 measures of academic quality and graduate success.

“Quinnipiac is on the rise, and this year’s U.S. News & World Report rankings affirm the momentum we are building across the university,” said Annalisa Zinn, vice president for academic innovation & effectiveness. “Our new No. 78 ranking among private national universities and Best Undergraduate Teaching ranking reflect what our students experience every day: an exceptional education shaped by extraordinary faculty who inspire students to think boldly, learn deeply and prepare for meaningful careers and lives.”

Additionally, U.S. News & World Report’s 2027 Best Colleges rankings provide strong recognition for Quinnipiac with a standout spot at No. 55 for undergraduate engineering (non-doctorate) program, undergraduate nursing program at No. 115, undergraduate business program at No. 129, undergraduate computer science program at No. 257 and undergraduate psychology program at No. 276.

As the School of Computing & Engineering celebrates its 10th anniversary, Dean Taskin Kocak said the national rankings are a meaningful recognition of how far the school has come in a relatively short time.

“These rankings reflect the dedication of our faculty, staff and students and the tremendous growth and momentum of our school,” Kocak said. “They affirm our commitment to providing students with a rigorous, hands-on education that prepares them to succeed in rapidly evolving fields. We continue to strengthen our academic programs, expand opportunities for student research and experiential learning, and build meaningful partnerships with industry and other universities. I am proud of the progress our school has made and excited about the opportunities ahead as we continue to grow and innovate.”

Quinnipiac is top in the state for this category among our competitors by double digits or more.

Dean Larry Slater said the School of Nursing’s latest national ranking reflects the great work of its community.

“Over the last two and a half years, the faculty and staff at the School of Nursing have built a one-of-a-kind, competency-based curriculum that is reenvisioning how students learn and ensuring practice readiness after graduation. Faculty are committed to student success through embracing the science of teaching and learning to transform classroom, simulation, and clinical learning. With this transformation, faculty and staff have been sharing their expertise across the country, helping Quinnipiac build its reputation as a leader in 21st century nursing education,” Slater said.  

Dean Holly Raider said she’s very proud of the work of School of Business’ innovative faculty.

“They are on the frontiers of their fields with notable firsts in human-centered approaches to applied AI and analytics, blockchain technology, business applications of quantum computing, and our renowned Global Asset Management Education Forum that brings together students and faculty from over 120 universities from around the world,” Raider said.

Adam Roth, executive dean and dean of the College of Arts & Sciences, said he’s proud to see Quinnipiac’s psychology program recognized.

“This recognition reflects the strength of our faculty, the dedication of our students, and the quality of the education we provide in the psychology program. Our goal is to give students a strong foundation in psychological science while also providing opportunities to apply what they learn through research, hands-on experiences, and connections to their future careers. It’s exciting to see that work recognized on a national level,” Roth said.

Chief Experience Officer Tom Ellett said the continued recognition of Quinnipiac in the U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings reflects the university’s commitment to educating the whole student.

“While exceptional teaching and academic quality remain at the core of our mission, we know that transformative learning happens both inside and outside the classroom. Through leadership opportunities, student organizations, experiential learning, community engagement, wellness initiatives and personalized support, we intentionally create a co-curricular experience that enhances classroom learning and helps students develop the confidence, skills and relationships needed to thrive,” Ellett said.

Ellett noted that focusing on helping every student feel connected, supported and known is one of the reasons Quinnipiac continues to attract students who are looking for both academic excellence and a strong sense of community.
