A team of faculty and student researchers are helping Connecticut schools put menstrual equity into practice, sharing new findings on the implementation of the state’s law ensuring students have access to free menstrual products at the Menstrual Equity Summit on Oct. 27, hosted by the CT Diaper Bank.

Anne Eisbach and Clorinda Velez, professors of psychology, Hillary Haldane, professor of anthropology and Alex Storm, a student in the master of social work program, presented six months of research on how schools are providing menstrual supplies and implementing the law.

Eisbach, Velez and Haldane are leading a statewide evaluation of a program funded by the state Department of Public Health and managed by the CT Diaper Bank to help schools comply with the law.

Launched in fall 2024, the program’s evaluation examines the distribution and effectiveness of menstrual products in school settings, demonstrating how Quinnipiac’s interdisciplinary research can inform public policy and address real-world challenges.
