Bobcat Bound Newsletter: June 18, 2026
It's Fantastic Getting to Know You!
Orientation is off to a great start, and it has been a joy welcoming our newest Bobcats and their families to our Mount Carmel Campus. Each session has been filled with excitement, connection and the beginning of lifelong friendships as students take their first steps toward becoming part of our Quinnipiac family. Students who have not yet completed their math placement exam should do so before arriving on campus for their respective Orientation session.
See photos and stories about each of the Orientation sessions at Quinnipiac Today.
The deadline to apply to live in a Living-Learning Community is Friday, June 19.
As you prepare to begin your journey at Quinnipiac, consider living in one of our Living-Learning Communities, where students build friendships early, take part in programming and faculty interaction, and feel more connected to campus. Once the housing application is complete, students will be eligible to apply to live in an LLC here.
All communications about LLCs are sent to students' Quinnipiac email addresses, so check your inbox regularly and apply as soon as the follow-up email arrives since spaces are limited.
Once you complete the LLC application, the system will send a confirmation email to your Quinnipiac email account.
Students living in one of our LLCs are more likely to have a higher GPA at the end of their first year and in every semester afterward. These students are also 10% more likely to remain enrolled in college compared to their peers not living in LLCs. Ninety-five percent of students say they would recommend LLCs to others.
Incoming first-year students may select one or three roommates. Students choosing three roommates will be assigned as a group in Commons or Ledges.
Students are encouraged to discuss their answers to the lifestyle questions on the housing application with their potential roommate(s) to help determine if they are compatible and can create a positive living experience.
Roommate requests will be accepted through June 28.
All roommate requests must be mutual, which means requested roommate(s) must confirm the request to be assigned together by June 28.
Selecting one roommate does not guarantee assignment in a double room. Roommate pairs may be assigned in quads with another matched roommate pair.
Students participating in The Grove experience or an LLC must choose a roommate from other participants in their program.
There will be separate roommate selection processes for students in these groups. The Grove and LLC requests will supersede roommate requests.
Students who sign up for The Grove or an LLC and plan to pick a roommate that is not in the same program will be matched and assigned with another participant.
Housing assignment and roommate information will be available on MyHousing by August 1.

The university has five terms each academic year: Fall, January (J-Term), Spring, Summer I and Summer II. Students are billed separately for each term. We are currently preparing for the Fall 2026 term.
Billing for Fall 2026: Notices that invoices have been sent to all students and their proxies this week.
Payment Due Date: Wednesday, July 15
Students may authorize a proxy (parent, guardian, spouse or other individual) to have access to Self-Service to make payments on behalf of the student or to view grades. In addition, authorizing a proxy also allows the appropriate Quinnipiac faculty and staff to discuss relevant matters with the proxy. The student may authorize a proxy to all or a subset of the following:
Student finance information
Financial aid information
Academics (final grades)
Tax information

Payment options include one-time payments via ACH or check, payment plans, international payments and payments on behalf of a student as a proxy or a third-party.

The One Stop and Financial Aid offices will be hosting a webinar on June 30 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. for students and families to learn more about important financial resources like payment plans, loan options, billing cycles and more. Please expect emails from the Office of Admissions inviting you to these webinars.
The same presentation is held for families on the first day of Orientation. Please check your family schedule when you arrive at Orientation for details.

Managing Student Finances pages show cost of attendance and financial aid options.
Self-Service Student Finance Guide provides complete instructions on using Self-Service to set up a proxy, view and pay invoices and set up a payment plan.
Health Insurance charges appear on all first-year student invoices by default. Students have a deadline of August 31 to waive health insurance if they have equal coverage with another carrier. Students opting out of the Quinnipiac plan will reflect charge removal from their invoice in seven business days.
In Self-Service students and proxies will be asked to consent to the statement of financial responsibility which includes Quinnipiac's withdrawal and refund policy.
Students will also be offered the opportunity to purchase tuition insurance. Tuition insurance strengthens and broadens the scope of our withdrawal and refund policy by ensuring reimbursement for tuition, housing and other payments if a student withdraws for any covered medical reason at any time during the semester.
At the conclusion of the add/drop registration period, students may owe a balance or be due a refund. It can take up to three weeks after the start of the term for refunds to be processed. The fastest way to get a refund is to sign up for direct deposit.
The One Stop website provides answers to many questions and the frequently asked questions page is a particularly helpful resource.
Email onestop@qu.edu or contact One Stop for questions about billing and payment.
Email finaid@qu.edu or contact Financial Aid for questions about financial aid.
The next few months will be busy and a little bit stressful — but that is where Q-Start comes in. It is carefully designed with you in mind. It takes the uncertainty away from the on-boarding process and will let you know what you will need to complete and when.
Email qstart@qu.edu with any questions.
There are a lot of exciting opportunities headed your way this summer — most of which will come through your Quinnipiac email. Be sure to set it up and check it often. We also recommend adding it to your phone.
