Your first week at Quinnipiac is a very exciting time. While the transition to college can sometimes be scary, there are ways to make sure you start off on the right foot.

Get involved.

Go to events, meet new people and try new things. When you are engaged with campus life, it helps ease the transition and any homesickness you may be feeling. The start of the semester is such an active time on campus and perfect for exploring everything Quinnipiac has to offer.

Create a list of SMART goals.

SMART goals are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time bound. Having a clear vision for your semester helps you make the most of the time you have. The goals can be geared towards academics, fitness or something more personal.

Give yourself some grace.

Moving to college is a big transition. This is such an awesome time in your life, but it can also be very stressful. While it is always encouraged to go and try everything campus has to offer, make sure to set healthy boundaries to ensure you are in a good spot to start the semester. You need a good foundation to build on!
