You’ve Made It!

A student smiles as he walks beneath an inflated Bobcat and Orientation Leaders clap

The August 20 issue of Bobcat Bound includes information about Welcome Weekend, the first six weeks of programming and health insurance waiver information.

We're Here For You!

We hope you are able to stop what you are doing in the next couple of days and take a moment to recognize all you have accomplished to get here. You’ve worked hard for this opportunity, and you should be proud.

We are certainly proud of you!

Getting into college is challenging — as is the process of becoming a college student, and you have now achieved both!

As you begin this next chapter, take a deep breath and savor it. It’s completely normal to feel excited and a little anxious — chances are, many of the people around you are feeling a similar way. Give yourself the time and grace to settle in, meet new people and find your place.

And remember, you’re not doing this alone. There are people and resources throughout the university ready to support you every step of the way.

Ask questions, reach out when you need help and make the most of everything ahead.

You made it. Enjoy this moment — and welcome to the Bobcat family! We are all better for you being here.

What Happens Next, Your First Six Weeks as a Bobcat

From your first moments with your Orientation group through your first six weeks on campus, we're here to help you find your people, your routines and your place at Quinnipiac.

Whether you're a new Bobcat stepping onto the Quad or a family member cheering them on, consider this your ultimate guide to the start of the semester.

Why Does the First Six Weeks of College Matter?

Starting college is a major milestone, and we believe a great transition shouldn't be rushed into a single weekend.

Research shows the first six weeks are the most critical for a student's long-term success. This is the window where you'll adjust to your new environment, build lasting connections and establish the healthy routines that will carry you through your time as a Bobcat.

How Quinnipiac Maps Out Students’ Transitions

Welcome Weekend (The Kickoff)

Welcome weekend is our official welcome and it's packed with exciting moments. Reconnect with your Orientation group, meet peers in your specific academic school, learn how to get involved, and enjoy classic Quinnipiac traditions on the Quad and by Sleeping Giant State Park.

The First Six Weeks (The Exploration)

Our campuses are packed with events designed to help you branch out, join student organizations and discover your community. It’s also the perfect window to explore Quinnipiac's robust support resources — from academic learning commons to group fitness classes.

Our teams host dozens of events across the university to ensure you feel at home. Whether it’s day one or week six, our Student Affairs and Campus Life teams are right here with you.
