Faculty and staff will share their personal experiences from Sept. 11, 2001, at a teach-in during Common Hour from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 8, in the SITE Auditorium, SITE 201.

Among the speakers: an NYPD officer who was at the World Trade Center that morning; a college senior who rushed to New York to offer assistance; an employee working next door to the World Trade Center during the attack; a doctor working at a Manhattan hospital; a U.S. Navy pilot who flew to New York following the attacks with medical supplies; a man who had recently moved to Lower Manhattan with his young family; an employee working in Stamford who witnessed the state’s response; and a young administrator at Quinnipiac who was inspired by the way members of the university community came together and gave back following the attacks.

The university will begin the event with a moment of silence for the members of the Quinnipiac community who were lost that day.

On Friday, September 11, the university will host a flag-raising ceremony at 8:45 a.m. on the Quad, followed immediately by a procession to the university’s 9/11 memorial at the Pasquale “Pat” Abbate ’58 Alumni House and Gardens on Hogan Road. The walk is about eight minutes.
