The performances on Saturday, September 19 will start at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and there will be one show on Sunday, September 20 starting at 2 p.m.

The production is drawn entirely from the testimonies of Anita Hill and Christine Blasey Ford in the U.S. Sente. Through the verbatim stories of the two women, the work investigates how race, gender, power and credibility are just as relevant now as they were decades ago.

Padrón, creative producer and former artistic director of Long Wharf Theatre. “The Ford/Hill Project asks audiences to revisit pivotal moments in our nation’s history with curiosity and compassion. Opening our season with this production reflects our belief that theatre can spark meaningful dialogue, foster civic engagement and create space for communities to wrestle with the questions that shape our collective future.”

The production aims to help audiences resonate with history in a way that doesn’t make it feel as distant, especially as many of the topics it commentates on are still actively parts of American culture.

“Resurrecting text from our history can create a visceral experience that illuminates our present,” said Lee Sunday Evans, director and co-creator of “The Ford/Hill Project.” “We look forward to bringing this piece to Long Wharf Theatre’s season as an opportunity to invite audiences to re-engage with transcripts from Senate confirmation hearings when two people — who were not public figures at the time — chose to tell their story and ask our government about the law, its impact and power. We made this to spark multi-generational conversation about raw topics that affect us all — looking back to point us toward the future we can keep fighting for.”
